Plus Size Festival Looks

It's that time of year again, and while I'm only going to a day festival (Longitude) I may try to squeeze in another one. When you're plus size getting looks together for a festival can be a little more tricky. I've put together a few looks that can be easily created for plus size girls!
Festival Look #2
Festival Look #1
This is my first and favourite look! Every girl has a floral dress in her wardrobe (If not Asos Curve and New Look Inspire have loads!) and a leather jacket, so this is definitely an inexpensive option! If you're going to a festival in Ireland or the UK chances are it's going to rain at some point and a good pair of wellies are essentail. If you've a wider calf Jileon have you sorted. They come in an array of colours and patterns so you're bound to find a pair that works for you! For the festival vibe a floral crown is a must. They're absolutely everywhere at the moment from Primark to Claire's Accessories and you can pick them up pretty cheap. Of course I always had a statement necklace and this gorgeous necklace really glams up the outfit! An across the body bag is also an essential to keep your belongings safe and secure and the fringing is bang on trend too!
Festival Look 1
Festival Look #2
Kimono's are all the rage at the moment and all the High Street stores are stocking them! The great thing about Kimono's is that a lot of the time they're generally "Free Size" so most girls can wear them, so don't be afraid to look into store you'd never really venture in to. Festivals for me scream one thing Kimonos! We all have a pair of jeans we no longer wear, and if you're a bit thrifty or any way creative you can turn them into shorts and destroy them the way you want. The Beauty of this is that you can make them as short or as long as you want. I personally love the destroyed look with rips, here, there and everywhere! You can find loads of Step-by-step tutorials online and you'll be a dab hand in no time. For shoes I love cut out boots. They're sturdier then sandals and they look a bit cooler!. Add a Statement necklace and a bright lip and you're good to go! Just Don't forget the Sunscreen!

Festival Look #3
If you're going to a more laid back and relaxed festival, then this is the look for you. Khaki pants are a staple wardrobe piece in my opinion. They're incredibly versatile and translate well in all seasons. I've seen paits in New Look Inspire, Asos Curve, Evans and Simple Be so keep your eyes out for a pair! Add a basic white tank, which I'm sure everyone has for a nice contrast. I always buy mine a size or two bigger to give it a more relaxed feel, especially if I'm wearing them over tighter trousers or jeans!Keeping in the neutral tones this crochet open cardigan is divine. Available from Ebay and Amazon! It's open and looks loose so a size L will accommodate a lot of ladies! Finish off the look for a nice loose chain, a cute Tribly Hat (Claires Accessories have something similar!) and a pair of neutral sandals.

They're Real "Push Up Liner" Review

Every now and again a product takes the beauty world by storm. I'm absolutely rubbish at liquid eye-liner and have tried countless times and countless products. The Pens worked a little better for me, but they dried out ridiculous quick and I wasn't bothered repurchasing. When I heard Benefit was bringing out pretty much a fool proof eye-liner, I was sceptical! However after using this religiously for a month I've formed a very strong opinion on it!
Now I don't know about you, but those little angle brush and the pot of gel liner, wrecks me buzz. I've never gotten the hang of getting the perfect flick and in the end I've always given up, as I could never get the line right. In the end I'd have to redo my whole face as it always got everywhere. So this little Pen is a lifesaver. It's literally so incredibly easy to use. Like Honest to God ,you'd nearly be able to apply this in the dark, it's that easy!
The Pen has a twist cap, and has a Accuflex Tip, which makes applying the "flick" so effortless. It hugs the lash line easily and the tip enables you to give the perfect "flick". You can make it as dramatic or as subtle as you'd like. You twist up the formula and can apply both eyes with the product. Most importantly it's smudge proof. I'm constantly touching my face throughout the day, and this literally doesn't budge. The only thing I will say is if you want it jet black, I'd recommend to apply two coats!
As well as the They're Real"Push Up Liner"*, they also have brought out a They're Real Remover* which is a cream based eyemakeup remover that takes off not only the "Push Up Liner", but also "They're Real" Mascara, which is great as I "They're Real" proved a little bit tricky to remove! The Push Up Liner comes in at €25. It's a little bit more expensive than I'd spend on a Eye-Liner, however after trying this out I will 100% be repurchasing this. I'm so impressed with this product I'd claim this baby at my all time favourite Benefit Product! If you're absolutely useless at applying eye-liner/simply aren't bothered with the hassle this is the product for you. I can personally vouch for the effortless application and will be recommending this to everyone and anyone who will listen! Now all I'm waiting for is Benefit to release a few more colours, and I'll be a Happy Camper! Fortunately for you guys, you don't have to wait too long now for the release as it's being released on the JUNE 28TH. Clear Saturday now girls! ;)

What I Wore| Casual Skater Dress

With the weather still scorching (Thank God, says you) So I still have the legs out and just dressed up this very casual dress I picked up last Summer in Penney's! It's light, airy and perfect for the warmer days! I picked it up last Summer for something crazy like €7 and is probably one of the better quality items I've bought from Penneys. The Quality is really nice and it's incredibly soft!

Now it is a short dress, so if you're a bit conscious of flashing your bum you could always add a tube skirt underneath. I funked this outfit up a lot with a burgundy scarf and a statement necklace because the dress is pretty plain, and we all know that's not really my style! The Dress, scarf and necklace are all from Penney's/Primark from last year. I'm really trying to save money so I'm getting the use out of all my clothes! I do have an awful lot, so tomorrow I'm going to sort through all my Summer clothes again this summer as they're so incredibly comfortable! This Fran&Jane bag is my go to bag for this past month, and It doesn't look like I'll be parting with it any time soon, it's so handy and it's a good size for all your essentials!
The Sunglasses are a bit mad! I picked them up on Ebay for about €20 and can't get over how much I love them! I love quirky sunglasses and never leave the house without a pair! I wear my normal Primark ones a lot as I wouldn't mind them getting lost or broken but I spare my Raybans and my more special ones for more special days, am I the only one that does that?Ha!

Although I don't burn easily, I always wear sun cream when it's really sunny. The Sun has been shining like crazy lately and I'm already burnt, as I didn't realise how hot it was outfit until I was out enjoying the sunshine. Thankfully it's not too bad, but since Tuesday I've been applying sun cream like there's no tomorrow! Over the last little while I've been testing these out and we've been blessed with great weather lately I've had enough use to be able to give you both my Pro's and Con's of each!
First things first, I apply sun cream all over and this is a handy spray. When you read "oil" you automatically assume it's like those ones you pick up in the "Supermercado" in Spain, Which I've been guilty of doing before. First of all with a SPF 40 it's a pretty high factor so you know your skin is going to be protected. The Highest I've ever used previously is 20 Shocking I know, but this year I've copped on to my senses and really have started protecting my skin from the sun. Although it can be a little bit messy, it sinks in easily and smells amazing. It leaves your skin with a gorgeous glow and you can rest assured you're fairly protected.

  • Great for Sensitive Skin
  • SPF 40! Highest Oil, I've ever seen.
  • Paraban Free, as well as being infused with Thermal Spa Water.
  • Light Floral Fragrance.
  • Not great for the beach, as it leaves your skin glistening, and sand would get EVERYWHERE
  • Not sweat or water resistant, which can be a pain if you're a water baby like I am.
  • Has to be re applied often.
  • Smaller in size at 125ml, so you'll run out of it quicker than other oils
For me I prefer cream, especially if I'm at the beach and finds it sinks in a lot easier than any other formulas. It smells absolutely lovely, but isn't your typical sun cream scent, as it smells really fresh. It sinks in so quickly and the spray bottle is easy and minimises messes, as well as reaching hard to reach places! I use this more than the oil as it's a bit easier and although I love the glistening look at the pool, I don't like it for everyday use. You get 200ml in this bottle, which is fantastic as it will definitely last you a 1 week holiday, if not 10 days. I use my sun cream liberally so I'm only really speaking on my usage!

  • Sinks in easily and doesn't leave any greasy residue.
  • Great for Sensitive Skin and is Hypo-allergenic.
  • Smells light and fresh and isn't overpowering in the slightest.
  • Spray nozzle makes it easier and less messy to apply when out and about, especially on the beach.
  • SPF 30 can be too low for paler skin tones.
  • Not Sweat or waterproof, and you need to reapply after rubbing which can be annoying
  •  Pricer than other products on the market
  • It's not really recommended for applying on your face.
Vichy Mattifying Face Fluid Dry Touch Face Cream SPF50*
I don't have sensitive skin, but when I'm on holiday's I like to use specific sun cream for my face. I know a lot of people don't bother and at times I don't either but If I have it handy I'll also use sun cream especially for the face. First things first, this sun cream is 100% matte and doesn't leave your face greasy which I love, especially if you're out and about for the day. It doesn't leave a white caste either so it's literally fantastic for everyday use, plus the fact that it has a SPF of 50 is the cherry on top of the cake! It does take a bit of gusto to rub it in however! I would definitely pick this up again for my holidays!

  • Handy tube for travelling
  • Leaves your skin completely matte, and doesn't leave a white cast. Great for Oily Skin!
  • Sinks in quickly and doesn't have an over powering scent.
  • Alcohol free
  • Can be a little hard to blend in, as it's not a liquid formula.
  • As much as the tube is handy, I wish it was slightly bigger and I don't scrimp when applying it.
  • From reading other reviews it had lead to some breakouts. However I haven't experienced any!
  • A little bit on the pricier side at €14.50 however cheaper than others on the market.

What I Wore | Floral Print Dress (Again)

Good afternoon lovelies!
Hope you're having a lovely day enjoying the sunshine. I've spent a blissful few days relaxing in the sun while avoiding blog work like the plague! My laptop wasn't even opened the last couple of days and using my phone for all my Instagram needs. I've gone off Twitter and Facebook and everything else, I'm just in a funny place at the moment, but I'm soldiering through!
So Ireland has been lovely the past couple of days, I even got a bit of a colour! Ireland is so nice when the sun shines and broke out my Summer clothes! This Forever21+ dress is perfect for the Summer. It's light and airy and isn't restrictive at all. The neckline is flattering on bigger busts and the empire shape skims the tummy. I wanted to add a bit of height as I was going out for a nice lunch so I wore my Flatforms which are about 2 years old at this stage. They're incredibly comfortable and give you the extra height without any pain! To finish off the look I added my trusty bag from Fran&Jane and a gold necklace from Primark. It was simple and easy and I stayed cool!

Summer Wedding Guest Outfit Inspiration

Chi Chi London dresses are absolutely gorgeous. They're right up my street and are perfect for any fancy occassion. They have a lot of skater style dresses. You really can't beat a skater style. They're flattering on all shapes, are pretty and feminine. The styles that are available in plus sizes are small at the moment, but I hope they extend it to some of their other short sequin dresses, as they are UHMAZING!
Untitled #100

I've no Weddings to attend to this Summer, but this is totally something I'd wear if I was going to one. I love the colour of this "Dolly Dress"(it's more green in colour on the website) and is perfect for the lovely weather we've been having lately! It has thick straps, and although they're mesh you could wear a strapless bra with ease, or if you wanted more suppose a flesh coloured bra would also work. It's a flattering shape and if you wanted to cinch in the waist a little more a small skinny belt would look cute too! The fuller skirt is great too, especially for women like me, who are a bit tummy conscious.

Instead of opting for my usual nude shoes, I'd opt for this Summer's hottest shoe colour-white. You can pick up similar sandals in the likes of Penney's/Primark for next to nothing. I personally wouldn't spend that much money on shoes that I know I'd never get the wear out of , and thank the Primark Gods for delivering cheap and cheerful on trend items each season! This lovely clutch from Accessorize compliments the dress and ads an elegant touch to the outfit. It's also a decent size so you can fit all your "essentials" in. As the clutch is garish, dare I say it. I'd keep the jewellery simple with small earrings and a dainty ring and perhaps a watch with a little bling on it.

As It's Ireland, I'd make sure I had a little pashmina to throw on me at night, as being realistic temperatures drop. As this dress is detailed, and has a gorgeous low back on it, I wouldn't want to  add a little jacket or anything so this pashmina is perfect, as it also compliments the neutral colours in the bag. I'm normally not a fan of being so matchy matchy but for a Wedding it's perfect. I have this nail polish from Butter London and love it, it's a gorgeous, gorgeous colour and is perfect for Summer. I'd keep my makeup quite subtle and go for nude lips. This NYX lipgloss is my go to lip  colour at the moment and doesn't dry out your lips at all, just leaves them with a nice shine.

May Skincare Routine

I change up my skincare a lot. I have a few old faithful's (Effaclar Duo, Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, Vichy Life Serum to name a few) but I like to test out new products all the time. I've been using this combination for the whole of May and have noticed a dramatic difference in my skin. It gives me a "fresh face" look and my skin is really reaping the benefits of this regime.
First things first, I like to take off my  makeup with this Micellar water first. I find it removes my makeup effortlessly and even starts to dissolve most of my eye makeup. It leaves my skin feeling clean and it's nice and cooling on my skin after a long day. I use two cotton pads and it removes most of my makeup.
Holy Grail of Cleansing Balms if you ask me. It's literally the best cleanser I've used. It's so easy to use and literally takes off every scrap of makeup. I use the "white towel test" and dry my face with a clean white towel, and I kid you not there is no makeup residue left. Your skin is left soft and subtle and smelling amazing!
I religiously use this to fight off any blemishes and to keep my skin in tip top shape. It's moisturising and sinks into my skin quickly, which is great as I don't like to wait for ages to apply some moisturiser. It's a cult product for a reason and everyone who's tried it raves about it. it's a skin saviour and something I will forever repurchase!
I did a review of this last week(here) and it's still a product I've been reaching for on a daily basis. I apply it with my index finger as it's the lightest touch. It's a light gel formula so it's really hydrating and sinks in really quick. I suffer from dark circles under my eyes, and have noticed a vast improvement after using this for a month.
As I suffer from dry skin, it takes a lot to impress me with moisturiser, and this one does! It's a little less heavy than my well loved La Roche Posay "Nutritic Intense", so it's perfect for the morning when I want my face cream to sink in quick to I can apply my makeup. It leaves my skin so soft and not a dry patch in sight.

Blooming Marvellous

Today myself, Mum and Dad went to Bloom in the Park. Ireland's Largest Garden Festival held in the Phoenix Park. I'm not really a green finger kind of gal, but went along nonetheless and had a lovely afternoon. It stayed dry and it was quite warm so it was a nice start to Summer-Hello June by the way! Ticket's priced at €20 seemed expensive at the time but it was a really nice and unusual afternoon. It's nice to finally get a Bank Holiday!
